Using clips on 2008 lambs
Until such time as we have a full commercial release of the Clips by our industry partner, AWI is helping as many producers as possible to use the Clips on their stock.
Clip production capacity in Australia at this time is focused on meeting the needs of trials. Therefore, there is a limit to the number of lambs for which we will be able to produce the Clips for the 2008 drop lambs
PLEASE NOTE: As of 11 July, our production capacity and carry over stocks are now committed. Therefore, Clips will only be available to additional woolgrowers in 2008 if there are withdrawals from the current list of woolgrowers and/or stock is still available.
However, if you have not already done so, you can still express your interest in using Clips as an alternative to mulesing on some or all of your 2008 drop lambs by printing out, completing, and faxing the PDF version of the form, and we will do our best to meet your requirements.
After you complete and submit the EOI form, we will calculate the number of breech Clips required to the nearest box. A box contains enough Clips to treat 200 lambs and we will not split boxes. A matching number of tail Clips will be sent with each box of breech Clips.
We will then send you the following:
- An invoice for the Clips plus freight. You must pay the amount shown in the invoice before the Clips can be dispatched.
- Our standard Supply Agreement. Please sign and return immediately if you wish to proceed with using the Clips.
We will also send you a list of Approved Operators, as well as maintaining an up to date listing. These are accredited mulesing contractors who have been trained in applying Clips and have worked with AWI in 2007 and earlier trials. You will need to contact the Operator of your choice from this list and make the necessary arrangements with them to come and apply the Clips to your livestock at a time which is mutually agreeable.
The cost of Clip application is a matter between yourself and the Operator. AWI does not get involved in this commercial arrangement.
We intend dispatching Clips at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the week nominated as the start of lamb marking. Therefore it is important to get through the process outlined above ASAP to allow timely dispatch. Your assistance with this will be essential to the success of the process.
